Sage Parts That Share a Name: How Not to Order the Wrong One

Searching for a Sage part by its name is the easiest way to order the wrong one. Several Sage parts share the same official name but have different part numbers and are listed for different machines. Here are the cases we found on Sage’s UK spare-part pages, and how to pick the right one.

“Precision Burr Assembly”: three different parts

Part number Sage’s name Listed for
SP0110082 Precision Burr Assembly Smart Grinder Pro BCG820, Barista Express BES870 and BES875, Barista Pro BES878, Barista Touch BES880 (Sage’s page shows more models behind “View More”)
SP0110076 Precision Burr Assembly Oracle Dual Boiler BES995, Barista Pro BES878
SP0108720 Precision Burr Assembly Upper Oracle Jet BES985

Notice that the Barista Pro BES878 appears on two of them. Sage’s pages do not say why. Possible reasons include a change during production, but that is our assumption, not something Sage states, so we list both and recommend asking Sage support which one matches your machine before you order. Burrs are also “upper” or “lower”: they are not interchangeable with each other.

“54 mm Cleaning Disc”: two different parts

Part number Listed for
SP0001517 Barista Express BES870 and BES875, Barista Pro BES878, Barista Touch BES880, Barista Touch Impress BES882 (and more behind “View More”)
SP0013695 Duo-Temp Pro BES810, Barista Express BES870, Barista Express Impress BES876

Both list the BES870. For the BES875, only SP0001517 is listed; for the BES810 and BES876, only SP0013695 among the models visible on Sage’s pages. The 58 mm machines have their own disc, SP0001762, listed for the Dual Boiler, Oracle Jet and Oracle Dual Boiler.

“Portafilter Assembly 54mm”: two different parts

SP0027237 is listed for the Duo-Temp Pro, Barista Express, Barista Pro and Barista Touch. SP0024799, with the same name, is listed for the Bambino Plus BES500. The Bambino BES450 has a third portafilter, SP0100220. See 54 mm vs 58 mm portafilter parts.

Bean hoppers: one per model family

Sage lists a different hopper part for almost every grinder-equipped machine:

  • SP0001570 — Barista Express BES870 and BES875
  • SP0101739 — Barista Express Impress BES876
  • SP0025496 — Barista Pro BES878
  • SP0024380 — Barista Touch BES880
  • SP0102249 — Barista Touch Impress BES882, Oracle Jet BES985 and Oracle Dual Boiler BES995
  • SP0013196 — Smart Grinder Pro BCG820
  • SP0023102 — Dose Control Pro BCG600

Tanks and drip trays: one part number per colour

For water tanks and drip trays, Sage often has a separate part number for each colour or finish of the same model. On Sage’s UK site, for example, the Barista Express Impress BES876 has water tank assemblies listed separately for brushed stainless steel (SP0101948), black truffle (SP0101949), black stainless steel (SP0101951), sea salt (SP0101950), damson blue (SP0102652) and red velvet cake (SP0102653). A tank in the wrong colour should still be the same shape, but Sage does not say so, and the part number is what support and retailers will use.

This site lists the colour-neutral tank, lid and drip tray parts where Sage has them, such as the Barista Express water tank SP0020023 and the drip tray float SP0022928. For a colour-specific part, start from your model on Sage’s parts pages and match the finish of your machine.

The rule that avoids all of this

Search by part number, then check that the official page for that part number lists your model code. Names, sizes and photos are not enough. The step-by-step method explains how.
